Helicopter Training
College of the Sequoias Aviation
Welcome to College of the Sequoias Aviation

If your goal is to make a career as a professional helicopter pilot, then the COS Training program is for you! This program was designed to prepare graduates for a career as a professional helicopter pilot. Unlike many programs, our courses offer both ground and flight instruction in a fast-paced training environment to get your career started in as little as 10 months...Guaranteed!

We realize that training is still expensive, but the most important thing for a career minded flight student is whether or not they can get a job at the end of this program. College of Sequoias has been preparing students to enter the job market for over 50 years. We're taking our experience and success placing graduates and applying it to helicopter industry.

We are now accepting VA/GI Bill students. We are the ONLY Chapter 33 GI Bill school in California approved for helicopters. Ch. 33 will pay ALL tuition and fees for aeronautics courses.

Students have the option of earning an Associate Degree in Professional Pilot - Helicopter, a training certificate as a Professional Pilot - Helicopter, or taking individual courses to meet their needs.

The Associate Degree or Certificate Option both start with all your flight training classes. You will earn all your ratings to include Certified Flight Instructor with Instrument rating, in approximately 10 months. Each course, private, instrument, commercial, etc. is taught in a fast-paced short-term style so you don't have to wait two years to get the courses you need to be a professional helicopter pilot.

We get it... you need to get done quickly so you can get to work. Nobody has two years to wait to start a career, so we've designed the program so you can get your flight training out of the way firs. Then, as you take your general education classes, you can work as a flight instructor and build those valuable hours so when you graduate from the degree program, you have both the education and experience to launch your career!

Our Program is Post-9/11 GI Bill Chapter 33 Approved

The Helicopter Flight Training Program has been APPROVED for Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI Bill Benefits. Yes, the VA will pay for the flight training fees.
  • Active Duty personnel may use their benefits for the full cost of fees and tuition for Spring and Summer 2011 classes
